I bought this to power 6 pairs of speakers on my house boat and found that using just one of the two channels provides enough power for all twelve speakers. My installation guy was impressed with receiver and its features.

fyi. i have used mostly Denon units all my life. this was my music work horse for about 10 years before it died. i don't think any unit is suppose to last forever.
